Practical Field Work

Hands-On Farm Operations

Get your hands dirty as you participate in every step of the urban flower farming process! You will gain practical knowledge of seed germination, bed preparation, organic soil health, and drip irrigation. As our flowers bloom throughout the summer, you will learn proper harvesting techniques to cut blooms at peak freshness.

Stem Care, Conditioning & Prep

Learn the essential professional florist tasks that happen right after harvesting! You will clean, strip, and condition cut stems to maximize vase life, assemble seasonal bouquets for store delivery, and assist with farm stand sales. Help maintain farm health and beauty through weeding and organic bed care.

Canva Graphics & Farm Branding

If you have an interest in graphic design or Canva, you can expand your skills by contributing directly to Florista’s promotion! Help design eye-catching promotional flyers, social media graphics, and educational flower care cards for our local Pearland community markets and partner shops.

Schedule, Time Tracking & Closing Ceremony

Learn valuable professional workplace habits! Work starts promptly at 6:30 AM during cool morning hours. Interns work 3-4 hours per week and maintain their work log in a shared Google Spreadsheet. We wrap up the summer with a special Closing Ceremony in early August, celebrating your achievements!
